ELEGANT GOLD & WHITE DISNEY THEMED WEDDING AT HAUGHLEY PARK
Vicki & Mike’s beautiful summer wedding took place at Haughley Park Barn a wedding venue near Stowmarket in Suffolk. It was the first time I had visited the venue and was in awe as I drove down the long winding driveway surrounded by woodlands and fields.
At the end of the drive a beautiful red brick barn appeared, behind which was the onsite bridal accommodation.
GETTING READY
On my arrival Vicki had just had her make-up started and was surrounded by all her bridesmaids in the living room. There was such an atmosphere of excitement and a real buzz in the air! Vicki’s “bride” straw was a gift from her bridesmaids from her hen-do and she was only allowed to use that for the entire morning!
Mike got ready at home with his best men & ushers and I met them at Haughley Barn before the ceremony to get some shots of button-holes being pinned.
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony area, attached to the main barn was decorated with a beautiful floral arch under which they got married. They had a beautiful idea of putting photos of their departed grandparents on chairs to “reserve” it in their memory; which I thought was very special.
THE RECEPTION
After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for an awesome confetti shot and then it was time for drinks & canapes! Vicki and Mike fell in love with the grounds of Haughley Park, including the owners’ massive Victoria property that created a great backdrop for their group shots!
The theme for their wedding was Elegant Disney. I must admit when Vicki told me this I wasn’t sure how she would pull it off! Once I walked into the barn filled with gold and white, each table telling a different Disney story in perfect detail, I was blown away. She thought of everything and the attention to detail was mind-blowing, I absolutely loved photographing it all!
Vicki’s dad did a fantastic job with his speech, which had everyone in tears – it was both emotional and funny. After the food and speeches we had a chance to explore the grounds…and we spent a good 40 minutes doing so (a luxury I am not usually afforded but Vicki and Mike wanted to make use of all the wonderful backdrops for their photos!).
WEDDING EVENING FESTIVITIES
After the first dance, everyone headed for the dancefloor! They had one of the best wedding DJ’s (and one of the best dance-floors) I had witnessed. Not only was it filled with guests but the bride and groom refused to leave the dance-floor the entire first set!
